Archicad T-Shirt Easter Egg

A couple of years back I ran – out of curiosity – some statistics on the Archicad library. That being the localized, old, now so called "monolithic" Monolithic because it used to be just one .lcf file. library.

In the extracted HSF files, meaning contents of the library consisting out of pure .gsm and .xml files, I found some fun stuff. My curiosity lead to the discovery of a, to my best knowledge, as of yet unpublished It was afterwards posted by Fritz Schupferling of Graphisoft on their community page with my permission easter egg in one of the objects.

Graphisoft's Archicad version motto t-shirts – in Archicad

These t-shirts are real designs by the way; the author is happy to report he has some of these in his collection.

How To

If you place the "Kleiderbügel" (coat hanger) object and activate the option to show some actual clothes hanging around you can now type "Graphisoft" as the "manufacturer" in the object's DWG export parameters.

The shown t-shirt(s) will be selected at random, so I dived into the code to display specific shirts.

Here is the full list for you to enjoy, each with their front and back design:

AC 10

We start nearly 20 years back, in 2006, with the advent of version 10, which was the first "modern" version: It was the first version to come to the Intel Macs and the first to also feature integrated layouts. No more PlotMaker haggling!
The t-shirt features the same "signature building" as the splash screen: PR34 House by Rojkind Arquitectos and the words "What if".
Fun fact: All version up to version 27 can still read files from Archicad 10!

AC 11

The t-shirts just boasts "experienceBIM.com", a still working link.

AC 12

The motto was "Continuing development", t-shirt depicting "ArchiCAD 3D Document: Revolutionizing The Drawing".
In 2008's version we got not only 3D documents but also Partial Structure Display, and the Curtain Wall's first iteration.

AC 13

This years t-shirt cheers the on the introduction of the BIM server: "I never do it alone... TEAMWORK ™"

AC 14

AC 15

Version 15 introduced the Shell tool, which was both prominently featured on the box art/splash screen and the t-shirt.

AC 16

Version 16 brought the Morph tool, which translates rather poorly to the cheesy line on the back: "I get to work with models every day."

AC 17

Version 17 had two shirts designed (one of these gets randomly selected in the object).

AC 18

AC 19

Version 19 is gloating with "Faster than Ever" – the speed improvements felt only marginal however.

AC 20

In 2016 we finally got a revamped and modern looking interface, leaving the Windows 95 aesthetic with pixely icons behind for good. That gave us a "Fresh Look @ BIM".

AC 21

The version 21 tee makes a nice play on the number by using a Golden Spiral and the Fibonacci Numbers.

AC 22

AC 23

The motto says "BIM in an instant".

AC 24

The lovely selection stops with version 24 and it's signature building, or rather the abstracted silhouette of Merdeka Tower by Fender Katsalidis, with its 118 stories currently the second highest building in the world.

Technically the motive is just a picture set in front of the t-shirt (so no advanced texture techniques involving TEVE magic 🙁).
If you want to check it out yourself you can look into the "ACShirtMacro" macro.

I presented this easter egg on the 13th September 2025 at the Hamburg user meetup "archicad.out of the box", organized by Frank Beister and supported by Graphisoft Germany.
